I'm a 30-something year old mother of 3 awesome kids (ages: 18, 4 and 1), entertainer and entrepreneur. I'm in school part time for Computer Science and my interests include working out, community involvement, music, coffee, cooking, creativity and being outdoors.
About Blog
I set up this blog to journal my health activities and progress and to reduce my posts on social networks because most of my status updates were too frequent and too long. Here I can go into things in greater detail and help inspire my friends who are also into self-improvement, while not annoying those who aren't.
I plan on setting up another blog eventually. In the meantime, here you can find details of my plan in progress, recipes, book and app reviews, resources, etc.
My Inspiration
I would love to say my motivation is totally altruistic but this is one of those things I do out of loving me. :) I want to look and feel like I envision myself in my mind (more like me at age 28) and stay that way as long as possible. But equally as important, my kids need a healthy and energetic mommy and I have to be a good example for them. So it's a win/win.
My Goals
My goals change as I go along. My current goal is to rip down to less than 22% body fat while building (or at least maintaining) muscle mass. I'm aiming to get to around 130 lbs or less. Then when I get to 18% body fat I'd like to start building again. My long range goal is to gain 20lbs lean muscle, mostly on my butt, hips and thighs while maintaining slim and tones calves and upper body. Figure 8 is my ideal, with a 10 inch (or more) hip to waist ratio. Most of all, my ultimate goal is to reverse some aging and repair my metabolism that has suffered from having a sugar 'habit', 3 kids and years of learning, trial and error diets wise.
